- content warning for descriptions of grievous injury, but worth reading for sure. it's also very sad.
“Superb Owl Sunday VIII” by Alan Taylor
- chiefs who? (owl pun intended)
“What Do We Gain by Eating With Our Hands?” by Ligaya Mishan and Kyoto Hamada
- great photos! made me think a lot about hand modeling.
“Delta has been keeping a secret for the past 20 years—and pilots really want you to ask about it” by Rachel Ventresca
- the pilot in this article seems like a stand-up guy.
“Caps for Sale” by B.J. Novak
- this kind of feels like half an essay, but I still really liked it.
“Things Unexpectedly Named After People” by Roland Crosby
- factual, very short, and very good.
“How to Overcome Imposter Syndrome in Academia When You’re Six Raccoons Living in a Fjällräven Parka” by Ross Bullen
- the joke kind of overstays its welcome but whatever, raccoons are funny.
“Madame WebMD” by J.P. Brammer
- you may have to be extremely online in order to get the most out of this, but I can't recommend it highly enough.
